What I propose to do is to use music (singing) and artty illustrations to convey information on healthcare policy and neuroscience. There seems to be no other way of getting information out particularly, since traditional means are frought with too many difficulties and psychologists have already tried everything for the past 15 years but have not yielded the awareness that they really want.
Essentially, I want to arm ordinary people with the protective knowledge that they can use to prevent themselves from getting harmed by people with anti-social personality disorder, or give them enough information for them to recover effectively should they become harmed. ASPD is completely different from anti-social behaviour, the latter is a great deal less risky, yes, it is.
As 4% of the population is sociopathic with anti-social personality disorder, disasters are waiting to happen, which was why I ate s*** big time.
I am capable of both the music and the art. Lots of hard work though. I need to make the stuff as entertaining as possible and therefore as attention-grabbing as possible. Key facts need to be communicated- sociopathy is set by the age of 15. There is no cure for it and it is hopeless or next to hopeless. It is a chronic and lifelong condition, it does not get better but occasionally symtoms fade with age over a very long time. Even psychologists cannot change the way they are, and little is known about the cause of it.
As for how there is no pharmaceutical cure, I suppose awareness would have to be generated first so that funding can be directed towards research.
There is no point in giving people the Diagnostic Statistical Manual Fourth Edition DSM-IV to read out of the blue- it means nothing to them and is boring to them. I had to read it out of necessity. It is best if people out there don't get to the stage where they are fundamentally desperate to read the DSM-IV in order to identify problems correctly.
